Our company has successfully developed G.654.E fiber, which can maintain extremely low signal loss in long-distance transmission and can therefore support long-distance network transmission and higher-speed network connections.
- From your perspective, where do you see the current state of the fiber industry in the APAC region? What trends or developments are shaping its growth and evolution?
Currently, I believe the fiber industry in the Asia-Pacific region is developing rapidly. With the acceleration of digitalization and networking, the demand for fiber optic networks continues to grow. Especially under the promotion of emerging technologies such as 5G, cloud computing and big data, the importance of fiber optic networks becomes increasingly prominent. On the other hand, we see intense industry competition and high requirements for technological innovation and product quality.
- Looking into the future, what exciting opportunities or challenges do you foresee for the fiber industry in the APAC region over the next 5-10 years?
I expect the fiber optic industry in the Asia-Pacific region will continue to grow. On one hand, with the in-depth development of the digital economy, the demand for fiber optic networks will further increase. On the other hand, emerging technologies such as 6G, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things will also impose higher requirements on fiber optic networks. But at the same time, the industry is also faced with challenges such as how to achieve universal services while ensuring profits. This process therefore comes with both opportunities and challenges.
- In terms of infrastructure development and deployment, what unique insights does your organization bring to the table that contribute to the success of fiber networks in the diverse APAC landscape?
We firmly believe that the construction of fiber infrastructure should not only consider technical factors, but also fully consider economic, social and environmental factors. Hence, we are dedicated to research and production of fiber products suitable for various environments and application scenarios, such as high-temperature resistant fibers and undersea cables. At the same time, we actively participate in various public and private cooperative projects, sharing our professional knowledge and experience, and help build a more inclusive and sustainable fiber network.
- Could you share a success story or case study that highlights how your organization’s fiber solutions have positively impacted a specific industry or community within the APAC region?
We provide fiber optic cable solutions for the Philippines. The cable solutions we offer have not only greatly enhanced their network speed and bandwidth, but also reduced communication costs, which have had a positive impact on the country’s economic development and social progress.
- How does your organization approach collaboration and partnerships within the fiber ecosystem to drive innovation and ensure seamless connectivity experiences for consumers and businesses?
We take our relationships with all types of partners very seriously, including suppliers, customers, research institutions, governments, and other stakeholders. We collaborate through joint research and development, resource sharing and information sharing to promote innovation and development in the fiber optic industry. We also actively participate in various industry organizations and associations, such as the Fiber Network Council APAC, to strengthen exchanges and collaboration with our peers.
- Given your experience, what advice would you offer to businesses and governments aiming to accelerate the adoption of fiber-optic technology in underserved or rural areas of the APAC region?
I suggest that these enterprises and governments fully consider local actual needs and conditions in the planning and implementation of fiber network projects. For instance, more flexible and economical solutions, such as low-rate optical modules or mini fiber networks, might be needed for rural areas. At the same time, it is also important to raise local residents’ awareness and acceptance of fiber optic technology through public education and publicity activities.
- As an industry leader, what role do you believe the Fiber Network Council APAC plays in fostering knowledge-sharing, networking, and collaboration among stakeholders in the fiber industry?
I believe that the Fiber Network Council APAC plays a vitally important role in promoting knowledge sharing, networking and collaboration among stakeholders in the fiber industry. Providing a platform for all parties to discuss issues, share experiences and learn best practices will help to promote the progress and development of the entire industry.
